The Basic Scan searches your username across a comprehensive database of social media platforms, forums, and online services using the WhatsMyName project.

You enter the username you want to check. The system accepts any username format without modifications.
Database Query
We query the WhatsMyName database which contains detection patterns for over 700+ websites and social platforms.
Parallel Verification
Each platform's detection patterns are checked concurrently, making the scan fast and efficient. The system validates the HTTP response codes and page content signatures.

The Advanced Scan provides deeper investigation by searching Mastodon instances across the decentralized Fediverse, helping identify accounts on privacy-focused social networks.
Multi-Instance Query
We search across 6 major Mastodon instances simultaneously, including mastodon.social, fosstodon.org, infosec.exchange, and more.

Profile Discovery
The system searches for accounts matching your username using each instance's public search API. Results are retrieved with a 10-second timeout per instance and limited to 20 results per instance.

Profile Analysis
Each discovered account is analyzed to extract relevant information: username, display name, follower count, account age, and bio details. This provides context about account authenticity.

Aggregated Results
Results from all instances are aggregated into a single, organized report. Duplicate accounts are identified and merged, providing a complete view of Mastodon presence.
